The routes of this Dalyan Trekking trip will be varied depending on the season. Whether we walk along the shoreline or climb high into the mountains the views are spectacular. From cool forests, ruins, Turkish nomads and the stunning turquoise seas. The walk is fairly steep in places and you will need good walking shoes. Our guides will carry first aid kits and have extensive outdoor experience.
We will pick you up from your accommodation at 08.00 and we will have a picnic breakfast on the bus. Our drive to Sarsala will take approximately an hour and we will stop along the way by a beautiful lake. As we will be on the road above the lake it is a perfect spot for photographs.
At 10.00 we will reach our fishing boats that will take us to our starting point. Trekking for half an hour then taking a short break, followed by another hours walk with a break. We will meet with a local family that produce honey on the mountain.
TIP: If you’re interested in finding out more about how local turkish village families live, why not spend the day experiencing it for yourself with our Village Life tour?
At 13.00 we will reach the ruins. We will spend time learning about the history of the area and the local Yoruk (Turkish Nomads) people. Our lunch will be prepared in a local families house. We will eat with the family and learn about how they survive the harsh weather of the area.
At 14.30 we will leave our new friends and walk for another hour until we reach Hammam Bay. A lovely secluded bay where there are ruins of an ancient hammam (Turkish Bath). We will have time to swim and cool off in the sea. At 16.00 our boats will return to collect us and we will head back to our minibus. We will return to Dalyan at 18.00.
