This trip incorporates the best parts of the town of Akyaka plus going further beyond to show you the beautiful village of Akbük where tourists seldom go. We pick you up from your accommodation at 9:00 am in the morning with our air conditioned mini bus and our first stop after a short drive will be for a traditional Turkish Breakfast provided for us at the home of a local Turkish family.

After we spend an hour there, we will hit the road to get to the Rock Tombs situated just before Akyaka. We will spend time there exploring the fabulous Rock Tombs from the Lycian era with plenty of opportunities to take fantastic photographs of these impressive structures. We will then cross the road to access where the famous Azmak (Aquarium) river begins – you will be amazed at the glass like clarity of the water which is made of 70% soda water –  feel free to grab a glass and try a drink! There are plenty more picture opportunities here with the bird life that inhabit these waters. We will then depart again to get to the centre of the slow town Akyaka. We will have a ride along the stunning Azmak River with our private boat. Here you will see crystal clear water in a kaleidoscope of colours, filled with a huge menagerie of fishes and plants which even at the deepest point of 10 metres you will feel you can reach down and touch them. After our boat trip, we will sample some of the world famous Maraş Ice Cream which is hand made from locally sourced goat milk. It will now be time to journey onwards to the secluded village of Akbük. The drive to Akbük will take about 40 minutes along the stunning mountain roads showcasing breath taking scenery perfect for unique photograph oppurtunities.

TIP: If you’re a keen photographer, why not join us on our Mediterranean Highlights trip for scenery that will take your breath away.

When we arrive at the beach of the town we will relax and swim whilst we enjoy our complimentary snacks and drinks. Following this at around 6pm we will move to a boutique hotel at the far end of the beach where we will sit and marvel at the stunning views as we enjoy a freshly prepared evening meal on the jetty. After we are full and satisfied we will depart and begin to make our way back to Dalyan, aiming to return around 9pm.

Volkan adventures, yet again you have surpassed yourselves. The day was fun and packed full of new experiences. Breakfast was taken in a superb location and more food than you can imagine. Definitely lives up to the adage feast like a king at breakfast time. Then onto the short river cruise, taking in amazingly clear views of the river bottom with all its myriad of colours and water life. A short walk was taken through Akyaka to meet up with the minibus. A very picturesque village with houses in Ottoman style. Then onto the beach for some rest and relaxation with warm shallow waters. Lunch was just a snack, if that’s what you can call half a loaf filled to the brim with your chosen filling. Then back to the opposite end of Akyaka for another swim opportunity or relaxation, followed by a superb meal sitting on the jetty surrounded by the most amazing back drop. Huge thanks have to go to Murat our genial host/guide who was ever attendant to the needs of his guests/clients.
