Beautiful and precious as it is, the Dalyan that we know and love does not reflect the typical Village Life of Turkish culture. This is an ideal option for those visitors to Dalyan who are only here for short time and wish to experience the hospitality offered in a Turkish home. There are many villages nearby where life is traditional, incomes are derived from farming, forestry and bee keeping. Where tourists are seldom, if ever, seen.

Dalyan Village Life Tour lets you experience Turkish village life at first hand, and meet some of the villagers whose generosity and kindness never fail to surprise.

We will pick you up from your accommodation at 08.00 and drive through the countryside to our first stop. You will enjoy a traditional village breakfast with plenty of homemade spreads and local honey.

After breakfast you will have a tour around the village. Tourists who never visit these rural villages miss the opportunity to experience the genuine beauty and generosity of the Turkish people.

Turkish Culture

From 11.00 we will begin preparing and cooking lunch. Lunch will be traditional Turkish food. Mainly vegetables and salads. This will give you the chance to see how Turkish families eat and live.

By joining this trip, you’ll get the opportunity to try your hand at cooking with the local women. Using traditional recipes and helping in their daily routine. Pick your own fresh vegetables or even milk a cow or goat and make your own yoghurt. The ingredients will be used in the food will all be freshly sourced from the family. Additionally, there is a lovely forest walk, you can explore should you so wish, a gorgeous little coffee shop where the locals go where we can teach you how to play Okay (the traditional turkish board game you might often see the men playing in the tea shops) and you can also venture out into the fields and learn about the agriculture and farming.

This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about your surroundings but you will also be contributing a valuable income to the area. Volkan’s Adventures will never take advantage of the local hospitality and we always pay a very fair price to the families we visit. These are authentic families who will welcome you with open arms. Join us for a truly special day out.

I can highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to experience life with a rural Turkish family. I, (along with 3 other ladies) had a great time with a lovely family who made us welcome in their home, cooked breakfast for us, and allowed us to visit their large goat herd and productive gardens. We then picked and prepared fresh vegetables to help create a fabulous lunch. It was one of the tastiest meals I had on holiday and it was a privilige to join this lovely gentle family and experience a little of their day to day life. After lunch we had chance to try milking a very patient nanny goat and I was thrilled when I managed to get some milk into the bucket! Much of the lunch was cooked on an open fire, but the yard (and our feet) were kept cool by welcome watering with a hose! No problems with the language as Selo was always there to translate and explain. Each visit will be a unique experience and one you will certainly treasure and remember.
