Bonafide Turkey was a brand new tour for 2022, and after listening to feedback from last years guests we have made a few changes to ensure the best level of enjoyment.
On this tour you will experience a glimpse of how the Turks like to holiday: Very chilled and relaxed whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings as they naturally come. Our aim on this tour is to present all aspects in an untouched, “unadjusted for toursists” way. And so we will reveal some secret locations that are not on a usual European tourist route, with not a typical tourist in site. We will help you blend in, not that you will need much help as the Turks are extremely welcoming to foreigners. And you never know you may even pick up a few Turkish words and most probably make new Turkish friends.
Tiny Village of Kışla: Spiritual Home of Volkan’s Adventures
We will pick you up from your accommodation between 09.30-10.00 am, then the Bonafide Turkey journey begins with a drive to a place where we believe is what makes Dalyan beautiful and shows why we made it our home. You will be our guest in the beautiful village of Kisla near Gokbel. This is also where Volkan lives and surrounds himself with the peace and solitude he needs. Moreover he wants to share this beautiful place and stunning views with you whilst enjoying a bonafide experience of food, culture and lifestyle.
Your Bonafide Turkey day will start with a visit to a beautiful bay where you can swim. This will be truly authentic experience as you will be a guest at the back garden of our home. After swim we are invited to share a table with Volkan’s Adventures family where we call “Mutfak” (The Kitchen).
Mutfak (The kitchen)
Mutfak, as in any traditional Turkish home, is a sacred space for our family. Here, the food is not only cooked, ate and shared, but its where we are at our creative best and where our ideas grow roots until they are cooked, melted nourished & spiced. Here the closest of all our friends are welcomed, with family problems sorted, joy created and shared. You are invited to share this experience with our family at the heart of our home, and in our kitchen. After we get to know each other and are fed by genuine Turkish hospitality we will say our “See you soon again” and head towards our 2nd stop with unforgettable tastes and memories in our souls.
Yesil Vadi (Green Valley)
The next part of our Journey takes us on a scenic drive through local villages and beautiful forests up into the hills. We will arrive at our hidden camp place after approximately 1 hour, and you will see exactly why we call it hidden, it is a little corner of paradise that is geographically perfect. The camp is located in the forest under the cooling shade of the trees. A perfect to escape the blazing mid-day sun.
This Quirky little place is a wonderful break from hustle and bustle of everyday life and there is plenty to do there. You can relax on one of the floating Kosk`s that sit over the beautiful river. Maybe with a cool drink in your hand and a good book, or there’s lots of hidden places to enjoy the beauty of nature whilst strolling over the quaint little wooden bridges.. You may find you want to take a dip in the crystal clear lake that originates from the waterfall or if you’re brave enough jump from one of the several diving platforms.
The Valley Walk (Optional)
Maybe if you are feeling up to it , there is a beautiful canyon where the river flows through. This is one of Turkeys hidden gems and completely unspoilt by tourism.
Even though it is not mandatory, but because its an amazing walk you will want to join. Please bring good shoes to wear in the water. Standard water shoes may not be good enough on this surface. Sneakers or full on sandals should be chosen. This walk may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Deadala Rock Tomb
Leaving the valley around 5pm, on our way back to Dalyan we will stop to visit a Lycian Rock Tomb that was within the boundries of the Lycian city of Deadala. Being able to actually go into the tomb will give you so much understanding and information about the Lycian burial customs.
After taking wonderful pictures and creating beatiful memories, we will head back on to the bus for the 40 minute drive back to Dalyan arriving back in resort around 6.00 pm. Whatever you decide to do you will love the stunning scenery, be immersed in local life and can be sure of a warm friendly welcome by Turks everywhere. The perfect day that lives up to its name: Bonafide Turkey
