Turkey’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites

History

The history of Turkey goes back to the earliest known human cities. This is the country that gave us the mighty empires of the Hittite, the Lycian, the Roman and Ottomans. The land that witnessed the great wars of Troy, Crimea and Gallipoli. The img_0028birthplace of St Nicholas, St George, Prophet Abraham and the resting place of the Virgin Mary.
Turkey is still a country rich in history, many of these locations have been enlisted into the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
