Fascinating informal insight into the Islamic religion and what goes on behind the doors of the Mosque. Excellently presented by Murat.
Wheelchair users will have no problems.
Only small issue was that it was quite warm inside especially for the ladies covering their heads. Perhaps even charging 1tl per person would cover the cost for some AC during the hour?
Definitely recommend though!
An absolutely wonderful evening trip not to be missed!! Beautiful spacious boat and a fab atmosphere with great guests. Amazing musicians, food and accompanying stories from Volkan. Great hosts! I definitely recommend this trip ❤
Wow! What and amazing day. Yes, it is a long day, but you see and experience so much, so don’t let that put you off. Starting with the superb breakfast in the sunshine in a village close to Gocek, then amazing views and scenery you experience at every stage of the trip. The incredible ruins at Patara followed by a relaxing break (in the bar, on our visit!) on Patara Beach. A superb lunch in a restaurant overlooking the harbour in Kalkan, then time on the delightful pebble beach with a swim in the crystal clear water (swim optional!). Finally, the wonderful drive down the coast to Kas, where we had free time to explore the town followed by a drink together in a bar full of atmosphere on the edge of the town square. And to end the day, another superb two course meal at the beachside restaurant on the pebble beach, just outside Kas. It was a brilliant, but informal and relaxed day with a delightful group of people and an excellent, friendly guide in Murat. If you want to experience the real Turkey, this trip is a ‘no brainer’! and exceptionally good value. Thank you, Volkan and Murat for such a great day!
Our final trip with Volkan on this holiday. Yet again a small intimate group that start the trip as strangers but soon start to interact with one and other. A gentle cruise from the mooring to the beach, where you can disembark and explore the beach and swim if you want or you are welcome to stay on board and admire the surrounding scenery. Whilst relaxing the crew are busy cooking up a veritable feast on the barbecue. Chicken and meatballs were the fare for the evening, but then suddenly add into that mix, freshly caught crab as you watched and added to the barbecue, can’t get much fresher than that. Drinks are readily available at the same prices as you would pay in town, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Once dinner was finished then back to the mooring at a leisurely pace. Was interesting to learn that Dalyan means gates and that there are a series of these which have nets which are raised and lowered to allow boats through but to stop the fish that live in the sea and the lake from intermingling. Yet another winning trip offered by Volkan Adventures.
What can I say about another fun packed trip organised by Volkan. We were promptly and efficiently collected from our hotel. Then comes the short journey to the Blue Thermal Lagoon, known mainly only to the local population, therefore not overcrowded. In fact we were the only group there. Worthwhile taking the plunge into the warm healing waters. Then after a short break here, onto our lunchtime stop. Lunch prepared by local family in a small village, show casing local cuisine and partaking of home made refreshing white wine. After feeling suitably replete onto Asi Bay for some relaxation and invigorating swimming, again this is somewhere only really known to the locals due to its inaccessibility by public transport. Once the batteries are fully recharged, once more off again, to be fed yet more food. What can you say about the Georgian cake apart from that it’s deliciously tasty. Onto our final stop for the day up to the summit of Radar Mountain over some pretty bumpy terrain, just glad I wasn’t driving the minibus. After a short walk you are led to the overlook the most amazing and stunning views over the Dalyan delta. All in all a most enjoyable day, made all the better for the tales of the faux pas that Lisa has committed over the years as a tour guide.
Loved the stunning array of fresh vegetables available and the taste of them was delicious, really wholesome. The crossing at times was a little choppy due to the wind, but due to the expertise and knowledge the boat crew, we were anchored in a really shielded spot, water as calm as a millpond. They then prepared a veritable feast for our delight, with more than enough to satisfy the hungriest of appetites. Yet another resounding success for Volkan and his company.
Excellent addition to Volkan’s tours. Nice intimate group who socialised well. Volkan’s knowledge of the wines and their inception knows no boundaries. The wine did truly flow as promised in the information and the mezes on offer were plentiful. All in all a very good value for money, chilled out excursion. Can’t wait for the remainder of our trips over the next week.
once again the highlights of our trip to Turkey centred around Volkans trips. We had been worried that the Medicaine Zorba would have meant cancelling our trip to Akkaya Valley but off we went. A beautiful drive to the Birds Nest Restaurant, unfortunately the steps to the upper seating areas were deemed unsafe due to the torrential rain, that however did not detract from the beauty and tranquility of the gardens, and a very welcome apple tea. If the steps are too much for you, and there are a few quite steep ones, you can stay on the bus and catch up with the group for the drink.
Then it was off to river for a truly relaxing trip, great company and the guide Murat is lovely. Once the boat moored up at the camping grounds it was time for a drink at the well stocked bar!, and a play with the resident kitten. Time then to relax on the sun loungers or you can hire a pedal on or fish if you want to. This trip because of the storm it was a little cold for swimming!
Lunch was beautiful, hubby and I had trout and it was amazing. Congratulations to the chef. On a normal day the group would have stayed here longer BUT we had the thunder and lightening, believe me you haven’t lived until you take a boat down the river in a storm, but the group were amazing, as are all the people on Volkans tours – he has a knack for picking the best.
All in all I would not have missed it for the world.
10 out of 10 Volkan!! You are a star.
One of Volkan’s new tours and we decided to give it a whirl as it seemed to be our sort of low key trip. Volkan’s at 6.30pm to meet up with the group, a nice number of 14, all friendly and as is always with Volkan’s tours, chatty and happy. Lovely trip, brilliant selection of wines, and food. Volkan as always was prolific in his knowledge of the wines available, and the history of Turkish wine-making. Red wine is not our favourite so we stuck to whites and rose, but the others on the tour said it was delicious. Lots of laughter, and nice snuggly blankets offered on the boat since there was a chill in the air. Great for star-gazing.
Finished up at the Jazz Bar with a gang off the boat, dancing and shots, a thoroghly enjoyable experience to be repeated next year!!!
This is the second time we have done this trip, the day was lovely and peaceful, the birds nest restaurant food was superb, Lisa and Murat are more like friends than guides, a camera is a must as you may see wild boar and eagles as we did, also it’s worth walking part of the way back to see some extra wildlife sights.
We were on the same trip with Sandra mc sorley and can only repeat what Sandra has already said, the whole day was fantastic, we did this trip last year and will do it again when we return next June, the Georgian pie is to die for, she you gat to the beach you must try the zip wire, our guide Ahmet was full of good information all through the day, this is a must do trip.
The boat and crew are delightful. Excellent food. Yoga instructor is experience and gave us lots of confidence. Beautiful location and falling in is fun. Definitely give it a go!
We were collected from our home right on time by our lovely, friendly guide Ahmet. After a short drive we were taken to The Blue Thermal lagoon where everyone had a swim in the beautiful but smelly thermal waters and some had fun covering themselves with mud. We had some refreshshing water melon before we were back on the bus to the quaint Alevi village of Fevziye where we were met by a lovely family and invited into their home for lunch. While we were sat in a traditional kosk we ate the most amazing home cooked traditional food and drinks and were given some great information by Ahmet on the Alevi culture. We then went on to have some sunbathing time at the secluded Asi bay where if you were brave enough you could zip wire over the bay. Then it was off into the mountain through the pine trees, passing very old cemeteries to the Sunset Restaurant where we were treated to their homemade Georgian pie. The setting was beautiful with a fantastic view. Finally we meandered up to the top of Radar mountain where we had the most breathtaking views of the Dalyan Delta, Sulguner Lake and the 7km long Iztuzu beach. In all we spent the most amazing day with Ahmet who gave us some great information along the way……definitely another 5 day out with Volkans Adventures. Again I would thoroughly recommend this trip. P.S. don’t forget your camera and go on an empty tummy as the food was amazing!!
Went on this tour myself and felt a little worried about being on my own. Well how wrong was I, from the minute I boarded the boat I was met with a very warm welcome from the guide Ahmet and all others on board. We had the most leisurely trip along the Dalyan river and then it opened up into the lake. The views were beautiful, the water was so calm and we were the only boat on the river it was quiet and peaceful. Everyone had fun at the thermal spa and mud baths and we had some lovely swim breaks around the lake. When in Koycegiz Ahmet took us for some amazing ice-cream and we had time to explore the town. Back on board we had a fantastic BBQ lunch where there was plenty of food to choose from. All in all I had the most amazing day with fantastic people. A fantastic 5 star day out which I would thoroughly recommend. Thanks Volkan and the team. X
I know from previous trips to Dalyan what a great reputation Volkan’s has. Having just booked and paid via Paypal, I just wanted to share what fantastic communication and super quick responses I received from Lisa. Rarely do you ever experience customer service this good. Thanks Lisa and I look forward to two wonderful trips in July.
