When the summer crowds depart, a quiet magic settles over Turkey’s two most legendary destinations. This exclusive 7-night winter journey is designed for the discerning traveler who values unhurried discovery, authentic local culture, and intimate group settings. Operating with small, dedicated groups of just 4 to 18 guests, this itinerary strips away the rush of typical tourism, inviting you to experience the serene, poetic beauty of a snow-dusted Anatolia and the crisp, vibrant energy of a historic winter Bosphorus.

Departing every Monday from January through April, your journey begins in the monumental heart of Istanbul, where history is woven into every cobbled alleyway. You will wake up to morning breakfasts overlooking the Bosphorus from a boutique hotel terrace before diving into deep historical peninsula explorations, colorful neighborhood walks, and vibrant culinary markets. From there, we fly to Cappadocia to settle into an authentic cave hotel nestled within a surreal winter landscape. Whether you choose to drift over fairy chimneys in a hot air balloon at sunrise or warm up by the fireside with a slow-roasted pottery kebab, every day is curated to showcase the authentic, unhurried spirit of hospitality that defines our philosophy.

 WHAT TO BRING

✦ Clothing & Layering (Essential)

  • The Golden Rule: Layers – Winter in Istanbul can be crisp and windy, while Cappadocia drops well below freezing at night. Bring thermal base layers (tops and bottoms) to wear under your clothes.

  • A High-Quality Winter Coat – A windproof, waterproof down jacket or thick winter coat with a hood is essential for outdoor walking tours and early morning valley exploration.

  • Warm Accessories – Pack a fleece-lined beanie/hat, a warm scarf, and insulated gloves. A second backup pair of gloves is always a good idea.

  • Comfortable Sweaters & Fleeces – Bring wool sweaters, cardigans, or fleece zip-ups that can easily be removed during indoor museum visits and cozy lunches.

✦ Footwear

  • Sturdy, Waterproof Walking Boots – You will be walking on historic cobbled streets in Balat and snowy, uneven gravel trails in Cappadocia. Bring comfortable, insulated boots with excellent grip.

  • Thick Woolen Socks – Keep your feet warm during outdoor tours. Pack a few pairs of heavy-duty hiking or merino wool socks.

✦ Mosque & Cultural Etiquette

  • Modest Attire – When visiting active heritage sites like the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, shoulders and knees must be covered (for both men and women).

  • Headscarf (For Women) – Women are required to cover their hair inside mosques. We recommend packing a lightweight, beautiful scarf in your daypack, though they can also be purchased locally.

  • Easy-to-Remove Shoes – You will need to take your shoes off to step onto the carpets inside mosques. Slip-on winter boots or shoes that tie quickly make this seamless.

✦ Electronics & Gear

  • A Premium Camera or Smartphone – From the panoramic Bosphorus breakfasts to the hot air balloons drifting over snow-dusted fairy chimneys, the visual opportunities are endless.

  • A Portable Power Bank – Cold winter temperatures drain smartphone and camera batteries significantly faster. Keep a portable charger in your daypack.

  • Plug Adapter – Turkey uses standard European Type C and F plugs (two round prongs) with a standard voltage of $230\text{V}$.

✦ Daily Comforts

    • A Small Daypack – A lightweight backpack to carry your layers, water bottle, umbrella, camera, and mosque scarf during day trips.

    • Lip Balm & Heavy Moisturizer – The winter air in Cappadocia’s high-altitude valleys can be very dry and windy.

    • A Travel Umbrella – Perfect for the occasional light winter rain or sleet in Istanbul.
